Stoyna Novakova is a litigation attorney in the Detroit office of Klein Thomas Lee & Fresard.
Stoyna earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Toledo College of Law, where she graduated in the top five percent of her class and served as Executive Articles Editor of the University of Toledo Law Review. In recognition of her academic achievement, Stoyna received book awards in Civil Procedure, Legal Research and Writing, Business Associations, Evidence, and Constitutional Law: Structure and Rights. She also served as a student clinician in the Civil Advocacy Clinic, assisting clients in resolving family law issues, including divorce, child custody, and support disputes.
Before joining the firm, Stoyna was a litigation associate at an insurance defense law firm in Michigan, where she developed experience in first-party auto No-Fault (PIP) claims, third-party auto negligence actions, and insurance coverage disputes.
Stoyna also brings a strong scientific background to her legal practice. She previously served as a Research Lab Manager in the Department of Molecular & Integrative Physiology and contributed to multiple large-scale research projects. Her work includes co-authorship of several peer-reviewed publications and a U.S. patent application related to tissue-engineered tendon constructs.
Her multidisciplinary experience enhances her ability to understand complex scientific, and technical issues frequently encountered in product liability and injury-related litigation.
