Paul is a trial attorney, whose practice involves complex civil litigation matters. Throughout his decades long career, Paul has primarily focused on defending product manufacturers in the medical device, automotive, and the industrial equipment industries. Over the years, Paul has developed a multi-jurisdictional practice, appearing in numerous state and federal courts throughout the country, including class actions and multi-plaintiff consolidated matters.
Because the matters that he typically work on involve catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, high-profile exposure, or risk assessment, Paul places great emphasis on quickly gathering and assessing the applicable facts, science, and law so as to provide clients with a comprehensive evaluation. As part of his case workup, Paul frequently works with consultants in the areas of mechanical engineering and design, FDA regulatory compliance, incident reconstruction, human factors, biomechanics, and health care. Paul is frequently selected by clients as national coordinating counsel, which encompasses directing discovery, document collection and review, and retaining experts.
Prior to his work in the civil arena, Paul was a prosecutor at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. Later, he worked at a national firm defending medical health care providers and hospitals. Paul graduated from Arizona State University in 1990, and University of Arizona College of Law (Rogers) in 1997. Paul is licensed in Arizona and California.
