Klein Thomas Lee & Fresard’s Product Liability Practice Group represents some of the world’s largest manufacturers in high stakes product liability litigation across North America. KTL’s diverse group of legal professionals have decades of experience managing product liability litigation on a national scale. KTL’s partners are supported by a team of associate attorneys who are superb researchers and writers. Together, we have handled cases in virtually every state in the union and tried cases in the most challenging venues in the country. In an era when less and less cases are going to trial, KTL is one of the few firms with multiple partners who have actually first-chaired catastrophic exposure trials.

Substantive Experience
KTLF’s lawyers have defended clients as lead trial counsel, regional counsel and national coordinating counsel in complex, high-exposure litigation for decades. We have coordinated litigation for major manufacturers in class actions, multi-district litigation, and pattern litigation. Our extensive trial experience provides a credible trial threat that helps drive down the value of cases in the event a resolution can be reached short of trial.

Mastery of the Technical Issues
KTLF’s lawyers are known for their ability to digest and understand the complex technical issues involved in our client’s cases. Some of our lawyers were engineers before they went to law school. We pride ourselves on fully understanding the science behind our clients’ defenses and using that knowledge to effectively cross-examine plaintiff’s expert witnesses.

Effective and Efficient Representation
Many of our lawyers have worked inhouse, and they understand the budgetary constraints legal departments face. Litigation is costly and time-consuming, and a “win at all costs” attitude can quickly sink a client’s financial ship while never actually getting the win. We work with clients to formulate fee structures that provide the highest return for their legal spend. KTL’s legal professionals are always seeking new ways to leverage technology to reduce costs while improving the defense.

Diversity in our Trial Teams
KTLF actively trains and promotes our diverse attorneys and paralegals, and we pride ourselves on having trial teams who look like our jurors. But we are diverse in many other ways. We are not a silk-stocking law firm. Our attorneys have worked inhouse and atoutside law firms. Some of our attorneys have served in the military, and others are fluent in different languages. Many of our lawyers come from blue collar households. In other words, we relate to jurors because we are just like the jurors.
