At Klein Thomas Lee & Fresard, we don’t just talk about diversity, equity and inclusion. We live it every day.
The majority of our founding name partners are diverse. We actively train and promote our diverse attorneys and paralegals, and pride ourselves on having trial teams who look like our jurors. But we are diverse in many other ways. We are not a silk-stocking law firm. Our attorneys have worked inhouse and at outside law firms. Some of our attorneys have served in the military, and others are fluent in different languages. A significant number of our lawyers come from blue collar households. In other words, we relate to jurors because we are just like the jurors.
We “walk the walk.” In his role as a permanent deacon at a Jesuit parish in Phoenix, founding partner Tom Klein has hosted webinars on how to talk to your children about racism (in Spanish, and directed to Spanish-language-first families). Tom has also hosted webinars providing updates on immigration law for those in Arizona’s communities in need of assistance. One of Tom’s most notable webinars was a conversation with Ike McKinnon, former Chief of Police and Vice-Mayor of Detroit, about racism (Chief McKinnon spent 26 years teaching at the University of Detroit, another Jesuit institution).
At Klein Thomas Lee & Fresard, we value diversity, promote equity, and make sure we include all of our employees in firm activities and business opportunities. Our firm reflects our values. More than half of our lawyers are women or lawyers of color. Our paralegals and administrative assistants are equally diverse. Klein Thomas & Lee is a vibrant, diverse workplace filled with opportunities and a true team culture.
